We had one of those in the 90s but it was the one with the backlit glow for the raido with the two mechanical vu meters. Someone brought it to the pawn shop and the guy who ran thr shop took it home as he knows they worth more than what hes willing to pay for them to the point the salvation army in the same town jacked the prices up to what a brand new stereo would cost.

I think Rhymes with Orange deserves a second hear.

VSS is fantastic. Easily the best sleeves on the market. I would love it if they had a distributor here in Australia. The shipping is rough, so I have strictly limit what I order. Nice to see they are run by such great people too. Great video Frank.

So this whole video was an infomercial for Vinyl Storage sleeves??? This is when you don’t start trusting channels when they start getting paid to sell a product or products When channels get big, and start pushing products, Watch out!!!

Great product, have been using these for over 3yrs now.

Whenever i go rooting through thrift store records. I like switching out crappy flimsy sleeves for some nice paper poly Deutsch Grammophon or Angle inners. Found a few strange ones over the years. Like an RCA one. Only one i ever seen of that. Same with the old ones I remember my dad having when i was a kid. They had some kinda square wave pattern all around the edges. And one just on the inside edge of the paper. Normally see them in gold. But have found a red and a green one. As for outer sleeves, I like a nice clear one thats on the thicker side. And especially the ones that don't go skidding off anything you put them down on. At one point I ended up with some really nice clear ones. But switched them out after maybe a few days. It was watching the entire album cover slide right off the top of my turntable and fall behind the cabinet. Not sure what kind those were, but definitely a sleeve i avoid at all costs now. They also feel different then a normal sleeve, so its easy to spot in the massive $5 bin our local store. So i will switch it out for a better one. And guess I'm off to take a look at what they have. Been itching to get about 1500, or maybe 2000 brand new paper sleeves for 45s. That way I'm stocked up for awhile. Only need a 1000 just to switch them all out for now. But if theres a shift in a color tone. Then that's a bummer. I found some gold ones about a month ago, and they are nowhere near what my other gold ones are. A good example of that is those gold A&M sleeves. Some look way lighter then others. Or darker.

Rad video. The antistatic inner sleeves with the rice paper are a game changer. Wish they offered local pickup tho

I was introduced to VSS by Michael45, tried them and never looked back. They’re the best for fit, slimness, storing the records separate. Inner sleeves beat mofi hands down with the extra thickness so they don’t crease. Then you’ve got the box set covers which I’ve yet to try. They are hands down the best. Just last week i received my first VSS order. 30 Gatefold sleeves, on the recommendation from a Rhino Hi Fidelity facebook group. They are the best cover i have. Postage to Australia was a killer. But will be ordering again with a large bulk order.

Great video! The big pictures are what did it for me too! I am 45 and started out collecting CDs when I was a teenager, but really got into vinyl in the past three years. CDs are great, but there is just something about holding that 12 inch album cover in your hand and looking at the pictures, art, and liner notes.

I don't know if everyone else missed them, but The Tea Party, specifically Edges of Twilight and the Tryptych albums. Highly recommend them as live performers. I got to see them live a couple of times. Agree with most of your picks, though! 👍

I had both of those CDs but particularly liked I Mother Earth's Dig album; I caught them at least once with Our Lady Peace. I remember listening to local band Doughboys - Crush album in 1993-94. For a rocker like you Frank, I have to recommend Sloan's Action Pact record from 2003 (I keep waiting for a repress). It's probably not your typical Sloan fan's first album pick, but other than the single The Rest Of My Life (which is good), the rest of the album is just "four on the floor" hard rock with an almost ACDC-ish guitar sound. Love it!

I actually did get one of your original shirts. Well, for me the most important Van HALEN album is the first one from 1978. 📀

I love that he said they test the inners. Financially, I’ve had to buy cheap PYP brand inners as I start my collection. I think it’s an improvement from paper sleeves, but I’m worried about long term storage and off-gassing. Someday, I hope to switch to Vinyl Storage Solutions.

Loved that you included Sven Gali , Slikk Toxic , and the Killer Dwarfs . I would of thrown in Big House out of Edmonton. Dollar in Pocket , Baby Doll were the singles . Unfortunately, only album was made . Age of Electric was another awesome band Smash L.A independent release, a band that should of been huge IMO

poison's flesh and blood cover was censored because it had blood dripping from the tattoo. and not really censored but zombie's astrocreep cover was changed because it originally had the 3m logo next to rob's head. perhaps 3m threatened legal action.

I mixed the New Meanies numerous times at the Sidetrack Cafe in Edmonton AB. Always a packed house. I've got some board recordings around here from those days... Loved that band!!!

I'm really shocked to see Varga included. I actually thought about this album before starting to watch this. I saw them in the Town Pump in Vancouver, and they were excellent.

These folks are amazing to deal with and their product is second to none. I do miss Mike though.

Holy crap! That's a lot of sleeves. Love them, my entire collection of over 1K records is in VSS dual pocket sleeves. Propypropylene is also archival, whereas polyvinylchloride (PVC) is not archival (acid release over time). However, I would not use the resealable ones, because the glue WILL degenerate over time. What I would really love is dual pocket album sleeve. So I rather use two dual pocket sleeves to make my own gatefolds. With printed inner sleeves, I would not put the record in it. I put the empty printed inner sleeve in the second pocket with inner sleeved record separate from printed inner sleeve. Dropping record into inner sleeve has potential of splitting seam at bottom of printed inner. my 2c.

I preordered Anno Domini the day they announced its release. I've been keeping an eye out for this for at least 4 years now. Love it! I still haven't listened to Forbidden, but I was a fan of this era back then. I stopped though with Tyr, though I don't remember why. I loved Eternal Idol. Headless Cross is a favorite for sure. Love the box set.

Great video, Frank. I was hoping you would ask at the end if they had any plans to produce a tri fold album sleeve. I have a few in my collection and haven’t found a great way to sleeve them. Have you ever seen a tri fold sleeve?

It was because of you that I came across these sleeves years ago. When I got into vinyl again, I wanted to get sleeves for my record and came across your video. Bought some of their products and have never looked at any other company. I love the dual pocket with the flap.

I have been buying vinyl since my first job in the 70s, my kids were brought up on the music & now all 3 are parents & my son is my clone & best friend going with me to record fairs, exchanging albums, BUT now his son wants a turntable to go with albums he has already purchased because he thinks vinyl & their sleeves are so cool, so now 3 generations are brought closer together by our passion for vinyl. I don't care for the price of my collection, it brought me a whole lot more by bonding us closer.

I will check them out, my dealer just went from 3mil to 2mil.
